Prepare a file that quotes and cuts cleanly.

A few checks before upload can prevent scale errors, duplicate cuts, fragile details, and production delays.

Before you upload

Use clean, closed 2D geometry.

File setup

  • Upload a DXF or DWG of the flat profile
  • Include only the final outline and internal cutouts
  • Remove dimensions, notes, borders, and title blocks
  • Confirm the displayed units and overall size

Geometry checks

  • Close every contour
  • Remove duplicate or overlapping lines
  • Join small segments where practical
  • Convert text and special shapes to outlines
Design for the process

Give small features enough metal to survive.

01 / HOLES

Submit finished-size geometry

Draw the part at its intended finished size. We handle normal kerf compensation during production; very small holes may still need review.

02 / WEBS

Keep narrow bridges strong

Thin webs between cutouts can heat, distort, or break. Increase spacing where the part must remain flat and strong.

03 / CORNERS

Expect a small inside radius

Laser-cut inside corners are not perfectly sharp. Design mating parts with clearance instead of relying on a zero-radius corner.

Important: Final feature limits depend on material, alloy, thickness, geometry, and the required tolerance. Contact us when a critical feature is close to the process limit.
Scale and quantities

Verify what the tool reads.

After upload, compare the displayed width and height with your intended part. Then choose the correct material, thickness, and quantity.

Include a drawing when needed

Attach a drawing in the quote flow when available, or send it through our support page for critical tolerances, countersinks, threads, bends, finishing, or other requirements not contained in the flat profile.
